FS2000 SCENERY ENHANCEMENT FOR THE YUKON TERRITORY
AND FEATURING SEAPLANE BASES - FEBRUARY 2002
====================================================
This scenery package enhances the entire Territory providing greater accuracy for the
transportation and waterway systems. The scenery includes regular land airports plus
actual seaplane bases located throughout the territory. Various modifications have been
made to the default scenery, such as adding missing highways and fixing Navaid data
according to VFR Navigational Charts.
An Airport/Facility Directory is provided that not only lists the seaplane bases but the land
airport locations, as well.
Certain waterways offer aviation fuel. Pull up to the docks that include a gas pump, come
to a complete stop in front of the pump and watch the gas gauge automatically read to full.

FLATTEN SWITCHES
=================
There are some areas in the default FS2000 scenery that may have an unnatural appearance
when using Yukon Seaplane scenery. To help correct some of these problems, a few lines have
to be added to an FS2000 file named "scenery.cfg", as follows:
In the root folder of FS2000, locate "scenery.cfg" and open it in a text editor like "notepad.exe".
Scrolling through the lines of text, look for the newly installed group named Yukon Seaplanes.
It will appear as follows (actual numbers will be used by the program for Area and Layer).
Make no changes to any of the text, except to add lines beginning with "Flatten", as below:
Leave no line space between the "Layer=" line and the "Exclude" /"Flatten" lines.
Save the Scenery.cfg, and exit. There is no further need to configure FS2000 at this point.
ThatÂ’s it. Have fun and safe flying!
PROBLEM AREAS
==============
The default scenery for McMillan Pass, Ogilvie River and Teslin Seaplane gave me a lot of
trouble. Try as I might and with other fish to fry, I have gone on to other regions.

THANKS
=======
Many thanks to the developers whose freeware work has found its way into my scenery. Freeware
is a combined and generous contribution by folks dedicated to the great hobby of flight simulation
and their efforts are always appreciated.
I'd also like to thank my friends at aeroair.net for their earlier beta work on YUKON98 and their
encouragement for me to continue with scenery development.
And, a special thanks goes to Ken Ettie of Whitehorse Intl CYXY for his comments and assistance.
